Tucked away, out of sight of Seaman Road, The Grove is a quiet escape in the shade of 450 oak trees, surrounded by neatly trimmed lawns and well kept flower beds.
The 57-acre Oak Shade Grove is a private hideaway for GAF Society members as well as a popular picnic area for area churches and other groups.
The GAF hall, located on the grounds, is also a well-known reception destination for weddings and other social affairs.
Within the hall is a private Clubhouse reserved for society members.
Each year, in August, Oak Shade Grove hosts the German American Festival, the largest ethnic festival in northwest Ohio.
